Where it all Bee-gan
In 2008 after moving to a new home where the garden was completely devoid of bees, in stark contrast to our old home, which was full of them. It was decided the situation would need to change.
Missing the buzz of the bees and wildlife in the garden, we got to work on reintroducing honeybees to the land around us by planting many bee-friendly plants. Once established, we got to work settling in our first colony of bees from Beverley Beekeepers.
From there, things flourished and thrived, with the bees producing more honey than we could get through ourselves. It was from here that we had to explore new possibilities for the honey, and Wolds Way Honey was formed.
Our bees produce various amounts of honey depending on the forage available and the season/weather.
This means that honey flavours and textures change accordingly but are always utterly delicious.

Now Wold’s Way Bees are well established; not only do we keep bees, but we also breed our bees and sell them to other beekeepers so we can assist in the effort to save the bees and our planet..
Healing Honey
Not only is honey great for the soul it is said to have been used for thousands of years medicinally, from healing cracked lips to soothing sore throats. Local Honey is also said to be used to help combat seasonal hay fever.
Variety to choose from
We offer a range of distinct flavours: Spring Blossom, Summer Blossom and Borage from the East Yorkshire Wolds and Heather Honey from the North Yorkshire Moors. Occasionally Broad Bean Honey is also available.

Soft Set
Honey
Soft set honey is made by the bees from a variety of forage including trees, flowers and spring crops.
Honeybees collect the nectar and pollen and convert it to honey in the hive. The honey has a creamy smooth texture and is delicious on hot toast.
Borage
Honey
The bees collect the nectar from the super blue flowers which are also called Starflowers. The honey contains high amounts of pollen and is a source of antioxidants. It is said to have many health benefits.
The seeds from the Borage flower are crushed and used to make Borage oil or starflower oil, which are high in GLA. This is golden runny honey.

Cut straight from the frame, unstrained and unheated. Ideal for spreading on toast.

Blossom
Honey
This honey is produced by the bees foraging on the various flowers within a radius of one and a half miles from the hive, this could include blackberries, dandelions and many other flowers and trees in the area.
These honey’s have various flavours depending on the flowers.
Heather
Blend Honey
The heather blend is made up of two-thirds soft set and one-third heather honey, it is a lovely spreadable honey, with a beautiful delicate heather honey flavour.
